Gnawledge is a pocket reference you search by describing. Type what you remember, such as “flags with green and black” or “tax revolt in the 1790s”, and it shows the closest topics, each with a picture where there is one, a summary and its facts. It covers flags, US states, US history, writers and professional wrestling, more than 17,000 topics in all, and everything is on your iPhone and works with no connection.

Gnawledge is coming soon to the App Store, for iPhone and iPad with iOS 18 or later. The packs are in English, so descriptions in English match them best. Privacy, terms and support are on gnawledge.app. Gnawledge is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Wikimedia Foundation.

Features

Type It The Way You Would Say It

You do not need the name, or the right keywords. Type "poet who lived alone in Amherst" and it finds Emily Dickinson. A kind of topic, a color, a year or a state is read as exact, and everything else is matched by meaning by a small model that runs on the phone.

Five Packs, 17,000+ Topics

Flags, US States, US History, Writers and Professional Wrestling. Search them or just browse: short packs run A to Z, and longer ones are grouped, so US history reads by era and writers by century.

Works With No Connection

The topics, the pictures and the search model are all on the phone. Nothing you type leaves the device, and there is no account, no analytics and no advertising.

Real Entries, Not Generated Text

Every summary is the opening of a Wikipedia article, with facts from Wikidata and credit for each picture. The app finds things. It does not write them.
